Roscommon Memory Café

The monthly Roscommon Memory Cafe is aimed at providing support, advice and assistance for individuals with dementia, their families and carers.

This event takes place in the Visitor Centre at LOUGH KEY FOREST PARK in Boyle and is held in a casual format with a mixture of music, song, storytelling and advice from professionals. There’s a clear emphasis on nostalgia, heritage and an opportunity to meet other families living with dementia.

The event takes place in person but it is also accessible by Zoom. The link will be sent out in advance of the event.  If you have any queries, contact Teresa O’Brien at teresa@ridc.ie or phone Teresa at 0860291215

Pros: Similar to the ‘My Family app. It is a useful way to keep track of loved ones who have internet connection.

Cons: It is dependent on constant internet access to be useful and is hindered by people forgetting and losing their phone
